I posted this in another section a few days ago but have received NO responses ... Maybe I can get an answer here :poke:
A week ago I bought my girl a low mileage 2012 Altima Coupe with the 3.5. We love the car, EXCEPT the base radio. The base radio leaves a lot to be desired. My question is, can we just swap with the next model up radio?
I know I'll need the new bezel but what else is needed? Plug and Play?
If we want the SAT to work, is the SAT tuner built into the radio or do we need to get the Nissan SAT tuner also?
Are there any Parts Guides that would list the part number needed for say the SAT tuner if we needed to get it?

Thanks for any help!

Probably not. You might be better off leaving tge head unit but add a sound pricessor, new speakers and a sub. Quite honestly even the bose stereos are not thatgood. And you cant upgrade them.

I have no idea if it is possible, but I have the Bose stereo (non-navigation) and it comes with an amplifier in the trunk as well as different speakers from the base. Assuming all the wiring is in place, you could upgrade to the Bose. I added an amp/sub to my setup and I love it.

Looks like the radio you want to upgrade to is the navigation unit. Not sure if it is equivalent to the Bose in terms of sound quality.
