Your friends at school?...oh man, are you about to get flamed. Look, why would you put a Pathfinder engine into your car? If you want a V8 put the LS1 in there, it's been done, it works. Stop listening to your friends, especially if all they will ever own is Civic's and Paseo's. Stop listening to anyone really, why don't you read up, learn something, then think about swapping. By the time you've saved up the cash to swap an engine, you should have done enough reading to make an informed decision.

I've really had enough of these conversion / swapping / opinion threads. It's friggen annoying!

any motor can fit in any car if you have enough dead Presidents to back you up.

the vk56de comes from the Nissan Titan...with enough money you can swap anything into anything. I would imagine that it may fit. Just take some measurements of your engine bay and do the same with a titan engine bay....

Anything you want to put in there can be put in there with respect to physical size and weight, depends on your budget. The VH45DE is a wide motor and requires a frame notch to fit the alternator. The LSX family goes in nice with mods, and minor complications.

When it comes to popping in a V8 you need to know what you want. If you’re happy with a stock VK56DE by all means go for it. But if you’re looking for more power then you will be limited by that engine. The performance part market is nothing when compared to a Chevy or Ford V8. There’s some stuff out there, but it’s pricy. So budget is a factor.

I'd love to see a S Chassis VK56 or VQ45, but all practicality RB25 or 26, or an American V8 are the best options in my opinion.

Of course it's possible, aslong as you're a talented custom fabricator/wiring guy with all the right tools....and money.

VK56 fits in a 350Z (Sears drift car) why wouldnt it fit in a 240? Boo American v8's in JDM cars, id rather see more 2JZ 240's.

Edit: Oh and ive already asked about this twice:zerothread?id=265606http://forums.nicoc ... ?id=265189

Sorry to resurrect a dead topic, but all VK56 debate seems to have died in 2007 when you search. Has anyone done this yet? The link above (by baseballfanz) is to a car that the guy ended up putting up for sale and he never finished it. Has anyone done this 100% and shown that it is possible?

I'm pretty sure the new owner of that VK swapped S14 finished the car and made an intro thread on it here on NICO a few months ago...
