Is it possible to convert a KA24e SOHC to a DOHC?

Im rather new to working on and fixing up cars, but i bought a 1990 240 and was wondering if i could convert its KA24e SOHC to a DOHC. is that even possible?

Possible? Yes. Worth the time and effort over just swapping in a DOHC? Not likely. DOHC motors are pretty easy to locate. I would just grab a whole one and go from there.

it was more an issue of costs than anything but i didnt know which would be more cost effective
