I bought a 2003 M45 without Navigation bc i couldnt find one black on black anywhere. So what I would like to know is if its possible to add the factory Nav system to my factory system that doesn't have it. I have been toying with the idea of adding a after market Navi/DVD system but am still very unsure about going through the troubles and not pleased with the asthetic results.

it can be done but its hard. you will need a the screen and the center controls and the brain and the antenna from a donor car. and the will need to wire up the whole thing. it will be quite an undertaking.

Well I have the screen which is the standard screen that houses the cars functions...ie radio, cd, et. Right?

Standard information lcd screen on ur car is 5.8 inches the 03-04 m45's with navi have a 7 inch screen. I've done research into this as many other people on the forum have. To put the factory navi into your car is ridiculously expesive ridiculously hard, and after doing some research you'll find is a waste of $4,000. Many people who have the factory navi in their car dont like it because of it's lack of updated Points Of Interest, and outdated info etc... From my knowledge no one on this forum has successfully done it. But good luck bro.

Damn that sucks but glad I now know that it has ben researched so I dont waiste the time. So I guess now my choices are A: Follow homeboys installation instructions on how to add an after market Nav system to the cassette slot...or B: just get a tom tom or something similar and call it a day....

As mentioned, but bears repetition: different screen size, different electronics, etc., etc., etc.

Unfortunately, you are better off getting an after-market system ...

i dont know how infiniti designs interior, for i dont have one. but in a 2001 acura tl, it is really easy to place a factory navi in a non navi stock car. i think it should be easy, wiring is a breeze in most cars.

Mbox,Having the Nav system might make me biased but here I go, In my 04' there are some annoyances in regards to P.O.I. However, on the whole, it is good to have. As a much cheaper aside, the Telenav system offered on many cell phones is cheap $10.00 a month and constantly updated. By using your phone's GPS chip, the system knows where you are ala Navigation. It even recalculates routes should you stray from your original route. By no means is it as slick, but it works. You can even enter destinations while in motion! Sure you could add Nav from a donor car, but, that is awful expensive and would probably grenade what factory powertrain warranty that might still apply. You could also keep your non-nav 03' for a while and find a 03/04 Technology package when color combination/money when the opportunity exists.CheersMark
