The fins are the best way. In all honestly, if it's got a red valve cover on it, and has fins, I wouldn't be to upset, as they were made at the exact same time IIRC as early blacktops....

No, the head fins were a casting change made in July 1993. The "fat" O2 sensor was an electrical change made in Jan 1994 along with the rest of the early blacktop changes (ECU, wiring, etc).

i have my redtop and i beleive it has a fat 02 senser does that mean i have a late model redtop? i dont mean to hijack your tread just dont kno how to make my own yet lol

goto http://driftcar.net/nissanfast.zip download it, load up the discs, and look up the vin # that is on the motor, or on the clip. where in LA are you? where did you have the motor installed?

Are you sure the elbow is a stock one and not aftermarket, it could have been replaced. In the end it doesn't really matter too much, it's only an age difference. And if your head has fins that means it's fairly recent at least.
