Hey I have a 90 SE Fastback and I was wondering if there was anyway possible to change the roof on it.

If possible I wanna put a T-bar roof off a 300ZX on it, the older model 89 300ZX roof looks like it's about the same size. I was just wondering if that would be possible, without having to change windshields or having to do any major welding, I know it would take some major work on the interior trim to make it work, but if thats all i'd do it. if i can't use a 300zx roof anyone out there have a targa roof or t-top on their 240, and if so how in the hell did you do it?

GOOD LUCK!! UR GONNA HAVE TO DO SOME HELLA MODIFICATIONS TO UR ROOF.. U FIGURE U GOTTA CUT OUT ALL THAT AREA.. AND THEN PROPERLY FIT THE T-TOP AND EVERYTHING THAT GOES INTO IT.. THEN GET TO FIT THE CAR.. AND MAKE SURE IT SEALS CORRECTLY.. MAKE CUSTOM WEATHERING FOR NO WATERLEAKS.. I USED TO WORK AT A PAINT AND BODY PLACE.. AND THAT **** ISNT A ONE DAY JOB.. ESP WITHOUT THE HELP OF A PAINT AND BODY SHOP.. ITS JUST NO WAY.. AND IF U TAKE IT TO A P & B SHOP.. EXPECT TO PAY AN ARM AND A LEG..JOE

I think a targa top would be sweet on a 240. It wouldn't be really hard to change a top out if you got all the tools. years ago my dad and i cut the top off a '78 trans-am and welded a new one back in to change to a different t-top configuration. It was a lot of labor but not too complicated. I've thought about doing a targa top after i do a rollcage and using the rollcage to support the pillars.

Anything is possible with enough ingenuity. As long as you got some one who knows what they are doing. And hopefully your uncle will hook you up, otherwise labor will be a *****. I think the targa would look much smoother than the t-top. It cant hurt to try whats the worst that can happen, you end up with a permanent convertible? he he he. Hey, if people can make those mini-trucks into convertibles and targas / t-tops, a 240sx should be easy! Plus you would be totally unique.

dude, honestly, go read some internet "rules" like:rule number 1:dont type in all caps, its not polite to shout.

not to be a *****, but Im sure you have sense enough to be able to hit the caps lock button and turn it off.

also, fitting a T_top roof Is a waste of time, if you can get it to work, you'll have to cut apart and re-weld the A and C pillar mounts, messing with you chasis rigidity in a BAD way.

I was thinkin of just removing it and put in a mechanical sunroof, I think it's possible, SPW makes sunroofs, but I don't know about the sizing though. If anyone made this I would like to be updated.

As much as I would love to see that and as much as I would love to have one. That is going to be a really big ***** to do. Im not sure if this exists. But I would do a soft top convertable. If you put T-Tops and it fits then awsome go for it. But if you want a hard top its going to be really hard cause of the hatch.
