for you to put a SR20DET into an S2000 fairly cost effectively?

Now Before the flaming starts let me clarify...

I now it's possible technically just how easy would it be in your estimation.

I own my civic for transportation. I'm a college student. As a commuter car, there are few if any better cars. I have no altezza lights or chromed-out "dubs" and "powered by mugen" is not something you'll find on my car.

Lastly, I'm not a "Honda whore" I was just thinking...for what you could sell your S2000 motor for you could have a pretty modified redtop....

not worth it in any way...other than the custom value...There enough aftermarket available for the s2000, ie, supercharger kits, custom turbo setups etc, that would make the SR not worth it....for some reason people seem to think the SR20det is better/more powerful than it really is.....

It's just that the s2000 engine is worth a grip and the red top is so cheap (relitively). and it's easier to upgrade to high Hp.

BTW I'm aware how powerful the SR is. I was thinking of modified to stock, not stock to stock.

P.S. Custom turbo? I thought the S2K's high compression made turbocharging all but foolish. Do you have a link?

Nevrmind, I saw some but those seemed to be for novelty value. I can't imagine those set ups making more than 50hp.

am I wrong?

When he says custom turbo kit, he means exactly that...it's a CUSTOM setup. If I were you, I would look into the Comptech supercharger kit for the S2k. Seems like a nice piece although I personally think Comptech parts are over priced. The SR is a great motor but I think it would be more trouble than it's worth to install it into a S2k.

im not big into the honda scene, but lowering compression isnt impossible : )

Let me see if i follow this....

so you want ot sell the s2k motor to get the major money you can make off it....

then buy a cheap SR motor with the money....

and then spend BANK trying to customize the car and setup to get the swap to work in a completely different car/chassis, and end up in the hole.... spending more than you got for the s2k motor, then have a turbo SR motor in the car which is probrobly putting out less HP than the s2k had originally, and now your in the whole a couple of G's....doesnt seem to make sense to me

Well if cheap horespower is all you want why dont you just drop a 350 chevy engine in a s2000? If wea re just trading in a modern engine, with one designed 15 years ago why dont we just trade it in for one designed 50 years ago? Besides no one else metioned that in a finely tuned handling machine like the s2000, changing the engine will up set the whole balance of the car, not a good idea at all my friend

All comes down to if you are doing the labor yourself and fabricating brackets etc yourself to make this thing fit and run correctly. If you pay someone else to do it, yeah its a lil off the far side of the checkbook.

SCC ran 7psi safely on their Matrix project....maintaining 11.5:1 compression. It made something like 230whp...180fwhp from the factory, thats over 50. I'm not actually sure about the whp figure, but I can look it up, however it was DEFINITLY over 200.
