In the near future(3-5 months) I am going to be turboing my KA24DE. I am working on the suspention, brakes and "feet" right now. I want to know if it is possible to make around 350rwhp with stock internals and not break anything. I was going to build the motor but I keep hearing that it can be done without building the motor.

I don't have the money to do it twice, so I want to make sure that the motor will hold that power.

Any input will help

Thanks

Chad

you'd be seriously pushing your luck, best bet is to buy a ka24de block from someon doing an sr swap, and build that one. it will save you down time and such.

Ask WD I think it is entirely possible. Just tune it right

Its possible but the margin for error is small. You better really know what you're doing, run 93 octane, take no shortcuts, etc. I plan to do the same thing eventually. I may implement alcohol injection to reduce chances of detonation above 12 psi or so. As they said, tuning will be key.

tuning is ur friend as u are really nearing the limit. U will most likely need an ecu or standalone as u would be hard pressed to run close to the limit with an safc. Meth/alky injection would really come into play since detonation is now ur major concern. But as said earlier, it can be done with proper tuning.

it's totally possibly but like turtl631 said u have a small margin for error

do a compression test and a full tune-up if you don't plan on doing a full build....

i had my the head machined, pressure checked, block honed and checked for cracks, crank, pistons, and rods balenced for $435...so as long as ur not against some assembly i'd suggest a spare KA and be sure that everythings done right

so it's not THAT expensive...but be ready to shell out more money and wait a lot longer than you expect
