Its got about 190km and burns a bit of oil. Nothing serious those. Just worried about oil being think and wont turn over.

I haven't had any issues with my '03 running 5W30 year-round, even when Edmonton gets those -40C cold snaps and I park outside.

My dad runs 0W30 in his vehicles in the winter with success, and I've had temptations to try it, but really... my Pathy turns over fine with 5W30, no need in my mind to go any thinner than what the engineers at Nissan recommend.

If you do decide to go for it, watch under your R50 for leaks.

Yeah, you'll definately be okay to run 0W-30 Mobile 1 in your truck during the winter. I started runing it in my QX4 last year from like January to March time frame and I intend to do it again at my next oil change. I like it. No problems and I think my engine starts better in extreme cold temps.

Check out this video from Mobil 1. It shows pretty well what your oil looks like in the morning after being out all night in freezing temps.

Why would it leak and i heard that 0w30 will give me better fuel economy?

On older vehicles (yours is 7 - 8 years old), gaskets can be starting to wear. A thicker oil like 10W30 may not be able to leak through the cracks, but something thinner like 0W30 may be able to.

And 0W30 may give you slightly better fuel economy over 5W30 and 10W30, but only when the engine is cold. Once the engine warms up, all three grades of oil will have a nearly identical viscosity.
