I found a guy who has 4 Continental Cross Contact UHP tires for sale. they are size 255-50-19, and he said that they came off of his Mercedes. (maybe the Mercedes SUV, i dont know). He only wants $250 for all four.

I am just looking for something to get me through the winter on my 2006 M35 sport.

Will this tire work? any thoughts are very helpful.

Thanks

What is the load index and speed rating? If too low for your car, then not safe for sure!

Secondly, the tread may be horribly harsh on the roads with road noise. Tires for trucks do not normally optimize for sidewall stiffness or road noise (at least, not that I know of! )

Third, and this is a complete SWAG (since I do not know about it): if the bead shape is incorrect for a passenger tire, then it simply will not fit properly on a car wheel and could be extremely dangerous. But, like I said, I do not really know this, so I would recommend checking this issue out throughly.

Much appreciated,

I think that i will probably pass on these tires. I was mainly interested b/c of the price. But, it makes no sense to have a car like this and skimp on the shoes.

Isn't a 255/50-19 to tall anyway? Maybe I'm just thinking of the Y34.

I'm not sure. I ordered some tires off of EBAY testerday, brand new & correct size .

when i told the original guy (the one who wanted to sell me the tires at the top of this thread) that i was going to buy new because i didn't want to chance it.....he blasted me with "it must be nice to have sooo much money that you can afford to waste some on new tires" in kind of a sh!tty tone. I hung up on him, and ordered the new ones.
