is it ok to use 5w-30 in the j30? my oil level is on the h mark is that ok?

i know it takes 10w-30 but since its been very cold out here in chicago and winter i went with 5w-30....but 3 days ago the temps went up out of no where were in the high 40s and 50s and gonna stay that way for the rest of the week and my next oil change aint due till 2,500 miles so should i change it or wait? and my dipstick reads all the way to the h mark for my oil? how much oil does the j30 take? the guy at mobil put 4.75 quarts in mine.

5w-30 is fine. I use to use Mobil1 5w-30 synthetic when I use to drive the J through the winter. Never overfill the oil.

does the h mark on the dipstick mean its over filled? i put in 4.75 quarts in mine..

If it gets over the "h" mark, then its overfilled.

J takes 4.5 quarts with filter change.
