Is it normal to get 20-22 mpg with the rb20?

Discuss the RB20, RB25 and RB26 series engines.

I've been keeping track of my gas mileage the past couple weeks and I've been getting 20-22mpg driving around town. Normally, I drive the car pretty hard but recently I've laid off quite a bit, shifting at around 3000rpm and just staying off boost.

I know these numbers are accurate because I go to the same pump and put enough gas in to where I can actually see the gas at the lip. Its usually about 14.2 gallons and i can go about 295-310 miles on it. I was pretty shocked at first because the year and a half or so that I've had the engine my mileage has been like 15-18, which I thought was the average.

Anyone else getting good gas mileage?

i average about the same with normal-aggressive driving, just wait until you take it on a 2 or more hour interstate trip, i usually see about 26-28 mpg crusing in 5th.

yah on a stock rb20 that sounds bout right.on my car i would get 30mpg highway and 20-25 intown depending on how much i was on boost.thing is the rb20 stock turbo spools up if you even look at the accelerator wrong, so more boost = less mileage.

I think I get like 10-12 but then of course I drive like a jackass all the time.
