to have a slight clicking noise when the engine is running? I can't hear it from in the car, but when i pop the hood and go around front, you can hear it pretty well.

From your description it sounds like you are talking about the tick from the injectors cycling and yes it is normal.

Could be a lifter....i have the same noise..does it get louder when you rev the engine in park? let me know...i am going to have mine looked at..it does it sometimes but not others...so i'm confused

It could be a lifter, as they are known to tick, however it can also be the VTC springs. If you are at the engine and you rev it a bit and let off, does it make a strange clicking sound and then get quieter?These are prone to becoming weak and causing the VTC gear system to chatter.

Three things can make a ticking noise, and one is normal.

1. Coil packs firing (this is normal and is always heard)2. Lifter tick3. VTC springs

actually ...... my injectors are louder than the lifters.

The only time I can here my injectors is if I touch a screwdriver to them and put my ear against the other end of the screwdriver. Its the coilpacks firing when you hear the ticking noise, not the injectors.
