Is it normal for these things to happen in a new Versa?

When we got the car the interior was almost discolored like on the dash. And on the climate control switches. But thankfully I had some of the new and improved Armor all that really brought out the true color out. And I noticed if you are driving the versa like 50 MPH or so and hit some ruts in a road that are pretty bad it sends that vibration to the dash and you hear a big thud. We have a highway over here that is pretty bad to drive on it rattles our Cavaliers like tin cans.

Discolored? Did you have any pictures?

As far as vibrations, any car that hits a bump will get vibrations and big thuds. I don't know exactly what you're asking or looking for.

No its to late to take pictures. But the interior is black BTW. But I was just curious if it was normal to hear any noise from an impact to make noise in the interior.

Yes, I'd say pretty normal. Everything moves/vibrates throughout the whole car, especially on really rough roads/bumps.

I have a 2008 white Versa with the beige interior. I haven't seen any of the fading or color mismatches mentioned. The thump, however, is very noticeable when I go over a large bump or speed breaker. I'm glad to know that it's not just me. Thanks for asking the question.

I have the black interior and have had the car in the SoCal sun for over a year and my dash still looks great. Could have just been something the dealer used on it that left a film that probably shouldn't have been used on the dash.

I notice a loud clump, almost sounds in the windsheild area, when I go over large bumps at speed (on the highway for example). But my black interior still looks as good as it did the day I drove it off the lot!

The "thumping" is most likely normal - remember, you're not driving a Cadillac! Those little shock absorbers are relatively stiff, and won't absorb an impact like a much heavier vehicle would. As for the discoleration, this is most likely caused by the "dressing" most dealerships use on their cars' interior panels. The dressing comes off with Windex and a clean, lint-free cloth (I like to use old dish towels for this).

Enjoy the new Versa!
