I realize the dealer makes a killing off of the paint protection, undercoating and upholstery protection packages they try to sell you when you pick up your new vehicle. Are any of them worth doing or are there products out there you can buy and do yourself?

LOL. Do you want to know what all that stuff is? The "paint protection" is a coat of wax...and the upholstry protection is probably just armorall or something similar...like seriously it is.

Don't waste your money on it...just wax it yourself and detail it yourself and save the couple hundred dollars!

Well, I was hoping for a more technical answer as to why I should waste my money on this aftermarket sales tactic.

But I'm pretty sure "Diamond Coat" is not just a wax job.

Here's your diamond coat (if you're lucky) -

Most of the time the dealer just goes to autozone and buys a bottle of wax....

More stuff from the web.

Undercoating is good, especially if you're in a heavily salted area. But everything else is just a money making gimmick.

My dealer guarantees the interior protection.. will replace any "part" inside that has a non-removable stain (except blood--sorry ganstas!).
