Is it me, or does the shifter seem to be too far forward...

when i drove my integra, id have lots of leg distance and my shifter would be beside me still with my arm bent. Driving the altima for a while now, hating how the shifter is so far front, annoys hte hell out of me during rush hour...

maybe my arms are getting shorter and my legs are getting longer? nissan really needs to design something more confortable to drive in.

*also the gas, brake and clutch pedals are not placed that well, especially for the right foot, it seems to far out causing ur right leg bent while left leg is just right for the clutch... maybe its just me, but no matter how i set up the seat, its still not as good as my old teggy

I think your arms are just too short lol..

I wish the back of the seat was 2 inches narrower in the center and id be super happy!

i honestly think the way the pedals and the shifter is set up, its designed for people with short legs and long arms, or shorter people

my legs are bent while driving, while my arms are stretched out to shift to fith gear :S

it doesnt feel sporty like that, my integra felt like a lil race car when hte shifter was on teh side close enough for me to shift with a 90 degree bent arm

I'm 6'3" (all legs) and I find the position of the pedals to be almost perfect (with the exception of such a long clutch!). The shifter, however, needs a revision!!! As soon as a short-throw comes on the market I'm all in! BTW, whatever happened with that? There were rumors a few months ago, but nothing since... I guess people are all tapped out for cash at the moment!

I am tall too (6'4") and I find the shifter to be great, and personally I love the long clutch. I drive Toyotas all day at work and they have a short clutch and I dislike it.

My only complaint about being tall is the sunroof, I wish I didnt have one because it lowers the roof 2" but you cant buy an Altima Coupe without one in Canada.

I'm about 6' even, and I love the shifter where it's at. I am with anyone else who would like a short throw shifter, but the placement is perfect for me. I can very comfortably shift and rest my hand while driving on the highway. I may also be in the minority on this, but I find the seat to be comfortable.

I totally get where you're coming from! It took me two weeks of adjustments to get my damn seat in the only position possible that keeps my noodle from smacking the roof!

+1 - agreed. I have maybe an inch or two from my head to the roof...

The seat is comfortable i like them, but on long trips my lower back hurts some times. Next time i get in my coupe i will check the shifter location. it hasn't bothered me before.

I'll be honest. This was a huge factor in why I did NOT buy a 6MT.It is way too far forward to sport shift well.

Maybe It's because I drove a G37 6MT right before. The G37 layout isperfect.

It needs to come back a good 3 inches. Never reach.
