Well, I finally got my V back. Looks just like new. My only gripe is that my car smells like paint, but i'll get over it lol. Oh, I also had a Chevy Cobalt LT for a rental car. Man, that thing was horrible compared to my V. Bad acceleration (auto) and much less fuel economy. The interior is also VERY tiny compared to the V, especially for a mid-size sedan. I'm only 5'7, and I felt cramped in the driver seat. Oh well. I'm back in my baby now and I'm happy.

My turn.

Idiot. [not me]

Getting ready to leave a parking lot. Black GMC truck drives behind me and pulls in two spaces beside me. So I look both ways [like a good little defensive driver] and back up. Just about to put the V into drive when wham!. I look behind me to see -- I couldn't have backed into the car behind me, I think. I didn't. Hit by the GMC truck! I guess he didn't like where he was parked and was going to move a coupla spaces closer to the door so threw his into reverse so he could move. He gets out, tell the guy who is with him to exchange particulars, and goes into the store to pick up what he came for. When he came out I was none to pleased . . . he says "f*** you, we backed into each other -- you have my info", jumps in his truck and drives away.

So, instead of driving to my office I head home (5 mins), call the insurance agent and tell my story [no witnesses, of course]. Insurance guy says "we'll waive the deductible" [no-fault insurance is a good thing today] and it won't count against my policy [so no rate increase].

But still . . .

Is it bad? Not really. $1,500 . . . so bad enough. And not bad enough that the bumper needs to be replaced either . . . but I tried

i was watching this post before my car was damaged, and it made me more cautious. I noticed alot of people trying to change into my lane. So i stay behind and prepare to lay on the horn. When i parked my car in the lot at work or to run into a store, i would always find that far end parking spot and make sure i was all the way on one side so someone couldn't open their door into me.

I tell you, It does no good.

Its going to happen reguardless.

dang hail.

Well, my V has been in the collision shop for more than a week now to fix the front right quarter panel, the front bumper, and the wheel. Almost 2 weeks ago, my wife and our 14-month old boy just coasting in the left lane of the 2-lane US-23 heading to Flint, when suddenly, the SUV in front of us changed lane to the right, only for me to find out that there was a "huge" debris in front of us. I think it was like an old car seat, and I had no time to break nor to avoid it. If I would step on the break hard, cars behind me would hit me from behind. If i switched to the right lane, I would hit the car beside me, and if I would go the left graveled shoulder lane, I was afraid to end up in the ditch. So, I partially stirred to the left, but to no avail because front right tire already run the debris over, and there went the damage. The estimate damage was around $2k, and I am glad my insurance wave the $500 deductible. Can't wait to get the V back... Take care guys driving your Vs...

Wow. That's pretty crappy of them. Is your warranty over? You can try one of the free image hosts like Photobucket to host your pics and link them from there.

If I'm you I'm going to another dealership and asking them to look at it as a warranty item, and saying " if you can and will do something about this you will be my primary dealership for repairs and warranty in the future -- and I'll let everyone I know about it too."

Don't understand NissanUSA's response. I'd keep hammering them, calling customer service until you get someone who will listen. Time expended? Lots. Satisfaction? Only if you annoy them.

Or you could paint the car yellow and park it in front of the Nissan dealership with a big LEMON on it [heck, rent a spot across the street and park it! Media gets involved and you get something done].

It's in the air.

I came back to my car after a parts run yesterday and noticed a gouge in my rear bumper the size of a quarter. Apparently it had been there a while and I hadn't noticed it, because there was dirt ground into it.

@#%@$# people....

this goes with the dent caused by the Jean-Claude VanDamme style SUV door opening that my V suffered in a parking lot, and all the lovely scratches on my roof from low-hanging trees.

I don't know what's more fragile on this car, the paint job or the front windshield glass. But they're both getting beat to heck.

It's my emotional tie to a stupid car [OK, sorry, girl, it isn't you; you're not stupid]. I mean, a car! Sure it was my first new vehicle ever. Sure I invested a lot of time finding it . . . and I'm on the hook for it for . . . for how many more years? But 24 hours later I'm still ticked off -- and it is a totally fixable inanimate object.

You better believe it. It's a jinx... every time I wash my car, it rains. I don't want more rain.
