In probobly 6months i will have enough money to to do a few things to my 240. now with that in mind. Whats cheaper a repaint or color change?

Teh car will be naked

Is it true that red is the most expensive color?

metal-flake paints and candies are the most expensive. red should be cheap, and you can go a little cheaper if you get a good clear coat. as for whats more expensive, it depends are whether or not you have the people strip the car and get EVERYTHING preped, or just paint over the surface and leave stuff like the seams and jams the stock color. i had wanted tog et blue, but it will be a lot of trouble, and all i want is a quick, semi-cheap paint job, so i guess i'll keep red.

everyone seems to have red thats why i thought of changing it to black or blue.

Well the guy works at a body shop and i have seen his work. The car will be naked except for the roll bars and other misc. that would take to long to remove. But strut/spring assy. would be removed the interior is going to be gutted due to a lot of care is needed inside and the sunroof is being removed.

He says i should go black. But i thought i would get a second opinon on the matter. Teh black 240 fastback = teh sexy :)

It's always cheaper to repaint than it is to do a completely different color, unless you want a half arsed job. Red = sex and passion. I'd keep it.

a nice bright red with the black roof would be pretty sweet.

I love a fresh glossy and smooth paintjob...

well the color red is expensive. I was looking at that 240 blue used in the early S13's. I am not sure i want black or not. It just seems boring.

But black is so sleek. I think if you go blue you should do periwinkle(sp?) Thats such a sweet blue. And would look good on a hatch.

i didn't look up the prices but rule of thumb the more color you have to mix the more its going to cost. A repaint would cost me 1500. Thats almost the cost of a color change.

At least thats how i look at it. A simple black or white is going to be cheaper then a blue. A purple is going to be more expensive then a red i would imagine.

I would paint mine just like this, only a darker red instead of orange, and get some tan leather seats to match my tan interior. it would be the sex.

If you're going blue, go periwinkle.

Get it from a Ford dealer.

Black is always an excellent choice.

It kinda sucks in summertime and shows dirt easy, but I haven't ever seen a car that didn't look good in it.

another thing. Rim offset is confusing. What kind of offset is required for coilover clearance? I was looking at some cars with +35 and they looked good then i look at some with less and they look awful. Very confusing

Swirl marks on black cars suck too. I don't think I'd own a black car without having a garage to park it in, even though it's one of my favorite colors on cars.

Yeah, but someone would steal it in my stinkin' neighborhood.

I'd have to rig up an alarm system for my car AND the cover. ;)

it's faded and busted though, so it's not that bad, so long as it's not rusting apart...
