To add my two cents worth. I have bought for from IOS 1/2 dozen times or so. service has always been great and have no complaints. Leon helped me on my last order and did a great job (C.T. # 265506)...and I am not saying this just because you included a free license plate frame with my order

I just made my first order a week ago and recived the first part today and the next part of my order tommorow. Because I kept forgeting to order some stuff.

I got ALL the BG chemicals except BG44K and A/C care.

New Rack Bushings (Should have went with SPL Polyurethane )

Rack Boots

Sway bar bushings

EGR, TB Gasket Forgot the AAC Gasket.

and 1 air and fuel filter.

8 OEM NGK Spark plugs

I got 1 free licence plate frame, free shipping because I saw the code on there shipping cam and 5% off.

Overall they only confused the gasket for the TCS TB so they credited me and are sending me the right one (The Gasket for the elbow part of the TB).

So I am very happy with them.

PS: I made the initial order with Joe but that took some time because he is a VERY BUSY man to reach. But after this I can now trust Justin and the rest of the IOS Peeps.

I love to represent IOS with the licence plate frame.

i've had my share of "less than ideal" experiences. i have probably been more lenient than i should have been since it was never a crucial situation.

my first order was plenum hoses, harnesses, gaskets, and some misc. items. the first thing that i noticed was a little off was the $100+ shipping i paid "based on the value of the order" that came in a box that i could have shipped for <$20. i was told a couple hoses in the hose kit were "discontinued" which i never really questioned (probably should have). upon arrival one of the harnesses was the wrong year range, which brings me to order 2...

i was told to buy the correct harness, return the wrong one, and wait on a refund. "less than ideal" solution but i needed some more stuff so i didn't complain. this order came correct (including return label) and the refund was received by check a while later.

the last issue that comes to mind was when i ordered some oem battery parts. they were not really necessary parts so it took me about a month to realize they hadn't shown up. i called (which i don't really feel should be my responsibility) and was told the order was on hold for one part. i decided to have the order shipped incomplete and coincidentally enough the back-ordered part arrived just a couple days later.

after all of this i will most likely continue to use ios for no other reason than convenience. i simply prefer to order vs. to go get. being a business owner with dealer accounts and industry connections i could probably get similar pricing from local dealerships. i just write off the increased margin of "less than ideal" to doing things the way i prefer to do them. if it was ever a crucial situation i would probably act accordingly.

I made my first order from IOS by phone on Wednesday, Justin took the order down pretty quickly and got my email address for shipping confirmation. I got the confirmation number today, and I'm looking forward to getting the package next week. So far, it's all looking good. Hopefully I won't need to order anything from IOS for a while, but they'll be the first place I call when I do need more parts.

Presume you have replaced the timing chain guides, all fluids and filters and rehabilitated the suspension?

No grill on the 1993 unless you want the tacky JDM non-functional tack-on.

I have been buying parts from IoS for at least 6 years and only once did they make a mistake, hood strut on 99 I30. Joe is a nice person to deal with. BTW, they have 5% off on orders of >$50 valid until June 15, 2009. They also have a special on Nissan Matic-S (replacement for Nissan Matic-J) for $7.99/qt and Oil Filter + Gasket at $5.75. Beshoff Infiniti-San Jose used to sell Matic-S for $8.96/qt but now has gone back to MSRP ($10.82). I need 24 quarts to flush the 06M and 03Q ATF so that's a lot of savings.

I have been ordering from IOS for about 5 years and have been very satisfied. I recently completed the Y33 front susp. rehab from hell (not because of IOS). Despite using a 55 gallon drum of PB Blaster, I kept destroying parts during the tear-down....mostly due to someone's infatuation with the pneumatic impact wrench.

I kept placing new telephone orders with Chris and Leon as I clamped, pounded, filed, sawed and drilled. They did a great job keeping the orders straight and combining them to save me freight charges whenever possible.

One problem....Infinity has evidently modified the spline/wheel bearing/hub combo for the '97 to '01 Q45 to do away with the large, keyed washer that fits between the bearing race and the axle/hub retaining nut (now like '03 - '04 Q45). They did not tell me this and when I went to install the hubs....."chest pain, I've got chest pain!" Luckily, I called Justin Monday morning before I was schedule to be air-lifted to the Cleveland Clinic and he informed me of the change. I was still cranked as I had spent Sunday re-compressing the coil springs, removing the new mounts and seats etc., to get the strut assemblys ready to be shipped back to IOS for exchange. A little info about the change at the time of the strut assembly order would have been extremely helpfull.

My major beef is with IOS's shipper of choice, FedEx. Across the years, I have found them to be the absolute worst. :Ground - delivery in 5 to 7 business days? I live in Gainesville FL and you can bet it will be 7...not 6 and NEVER 5, no matter where the point of origin. UPS..5 days tops for ground, even from the west coast.

I thought I could get my last order faster by paying extra for "2 and 3 day Express Saver" delivery and requesting that IOS ship it "no signature necessary." As I was tracking the parcel I found it took one business day to get the order over 2000 miles from Scottsdale to Jacksonville FL and 3 business days to get it 80 miles from Jacksonville to my door. I watched in frustration as it sat in Jax from Saturday to Tuesday morning and from Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m. to Wednesday morning in Gainesville with the status listed as "not due for delivery." It was finally delivered on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. When I called to lodge a complaint, FedEx told me that the advantage of "Express Saver" is not speed of delivery, it is that the parcel will arrive in exactly 3 business days, not 2, unless you pay even more and that "3 business days" does not count the day it was shipped. To keep that schedule, FedEx holds the parcel up if it is moving too fast. Say what? If that is true, as I told the supervisor, the term "Express" is misleading as Miriam-Webster defines Express as: "fast as possible; without delay." I then remarked to the supervisor that the "Ex" in FedEx must stand for EXtended not EXpress. Use Brown, IOS...please. There, that is my rant and I feel much better. Maybe we need a DYI support group.

Much needed humor on this Monday morning!, seriously awesome...

I wish we could use UPS but our parent company signed an agreement exclusively with Fed Ex.

Thanks for taking the time and effort to respond, Joe. I understand that you may not be able to significantly influence this contract and that the parent company most certainly has its reasons for chosing FedEx. Some of the complaints in this thread aside, my impression is that IOS runs a pretty tight ship, especially the parts department. When FedEx becomes a big enough liability, things will change.

All in all, I've been very pleased with the service I've received from IOS. I been amazed when I got the right part after asking, "You know...that little rubber doo hickey under the hood, between the fire wall and the radiator?"

I find the best way to get ideal service is to call.. Ordering on the internet makes me nervous and its always best IMO to talk to someone, that way if that someone screws it up you can talk to that someone..

Nobody's perfect. I can't think of one establishment I've done business with over the years that has never made a mistake. It's just that in auto-repair situations (often people's DD's sitting outside), one bolt or bushing can make 24hrs seem like 24,000 hours.

FOR THE RECORD, whenever you do major services on brakes, exhaust, or suspension, ORDER NEW BOLTS! It just makes life easier, and allows for proper torque figures. Your numbers will always be off with grit and dirt in the threads. The money you're saving in labor merits the purchase of all new bolts. Just do it - don't think about it.

Look at the discounts you get on parts versus a local dealer. That should make the extended shipping less painful. I do agree, the shipping takes way too long...not Joe's fault :P

I've spend thousands with Joe over the years on my AE Q, from suspension, to plenum, to brakes, etc....had a few misships, and shipping took a bit long, but not the end of the world.

However, I won't do business with anyone else, because Joe's concern for his own performance is obviously a priority, and that is more than can be said for any AutoZone (or dealer) employee I've ever seen.

If I didn't know better, I'd assume most dealer parts writers were on the public tax dollar, with their apparent distaste for efficiency, logic, or pleasantries. Not the case with Joe, or most of his employees.

Also, the recent implementation of emailing the PDF's shortly after phone ordering really makes your customers feel at ease - good work with that!

Had to bump this thread....but after speaking to Chris from IoS, I almost cursed him out for being rude! He got a attitude because I didn't have my VIN number on me at the time. Who walks around with their VIN with them at all times, especially given the fact that I'ver ordered multiple things from them in the past and provided the VIN that they WERE SUPPOSE TO SAVE ON FILE!!! I told Chris to save the VIN this time around....AGAIN! The MAF for my car is listed on the website for $450 and Chris told me $507. WTF!? His answer is that they jack their price up every month?? Is this true JOE? Especially given the fact that they haven't posted a sale in a long time....I'll stay away.

Infiniti Corporate warehouses adjust their prices frequently [monthly] to reconcile yen vs US Dollar, as they should.........new stock vs old or just blend the prices into everything.
In the last 12 months it has wiggled 12+%.

Soon US dollar will be worthless then parts will double and triple.

Dealerships in general not just Infiniti Of Scottsdale ask for the VIN number so they can find out what year and month your vehicle was made, Among other things. Without it you would have to tell them what year and month your Q was made in the case of Nissan and Infiniti dealerships.

Paul, I sent you a PM. I knew they needed the VIN, my complaint was that he was rude, especially when I was told multiple times that they would save my VIN on file from the first order I put in back in 07!
