is ecu #63 the same as 62

sorry for my newb question but i have a redtop and need a 62 but will a 63 work aswell.

yes.. same thing. I had a #62 ECU in mine (5spd ECU) then switched over to #63 because I sent #63 to Enthalpy for tune so now Im running #63

I thought the 63 was a Auto ECU.

it dont matter anymore, i just picked up a 62 ECU.

i've been running the #63 for a while now in my 5-speed redtop. works great, a/f ratios look good, no knocking, and power is on par with similar cars with #62 ECU's, so i see no difference. don't try using an E5, though. it will run pig rich and you'll lose about 30whp. i have a dyno sheet that says so.
