mine leaks all over my carpet in my 91 240, but I have a small knowledge of mechanics. I was just wondering if it is going to be a pain to do my self?

I was looking at some diagrams from my chilton manual and it looks very basic.

Number one, throw away your chilton or haynes manual and leave it there...get the factory service manual in pdf for free on the web somewhere. No it is not hard, just time consuming

Hey, I just unbolted it and yanked it out 5minutes ago. Im about to run down to Napa (as they are the only autoparts store I know of in lahaina) and pick up another one and pop it in place, then I have the task of bleeding my clutch. It was very simple, but I had to use a ratchet socket thing that let me turn it from an angle cuz the working area is very small. i just moved the 2 components ( i have no idea what they were lol) that were in my way(they also just bolted off). Then I pulled the pin that was connected to the pedal and it slipped right out

It wasn't that easy as I thought it was going to be. Me and a friend sat there bleeding the clutch for 15-30minutes(possibly even more) almost through a 12oz bottle of brake fluid.

Then went to get dinner because we were stumped and when we got back he messed with the free play adjuster? (he just used a wrench to tighten the bar its self and the little bracket) and that fixed everything. Clutch feels perfect.

you probably had such a hard time bleeding it because nissan felt the need to put that useless hydrolic block in line with the clutch.

my car already had this mod done to it and a very good job at that. Is having it bleed faster the only good thing out of it?

yes. it would take only 5-10 minutes versus the hours with a dampner. the dampner traps in too much air.

sell that engine?

yes, take off the clutch damper. it will be 100x easier to bleed. people say the clutch gets harder, but i didnt notice much of a difference.
