Does anyone here use it? I know majority goes the Uprev route.

I just bought a '06 m35x and installed a Bully Dog GT on it, I noticed a difference (butt dyno!) but nothing crazy. It seemed to make a difference on the 4k and above RPMs. It only has two tunes in it, one for 87+ that they call stock that you wouldn't run and the other for 91+ that they call premium that I run with 93oct in my car. Was it worth the $350, to me yeah plus it's serves other functions for me also, code reader, multi gauge display and you can also have these things custom tuned, which I'll probably do after exhaust and plenum spacer.

If you have an exhaust and plenum spacer, doesn't the Bully Dog know that the car is breathing better and it tunes itself? Tuning is one thing I seriously don't want to mess with. Only with a professional or a system that can tune itself for peak performance. Most likely I'd go with Uprev but I was told from a friend that doing a tune like that is not necessary. He mentioned there are some tuning products out there that can auto tune your car. They know what your car has. I have to ask him what the name of that product was.

Unless you motor work done or anything major it's all plug and play, they don't really give you options to mess around with. CAI, plenum spacer, catback etc you would still run the premium tune. You can still have a custom tune done by a Certified Bully Dog dealer at any point to fine tune it better than the preprogrammed tune, from what I gathered about this piece is that it was supposed to be quick and easy but still have flexibility to keep up with your future mods on your car. I'm not sure about the self tuning part but I guess it would be as if you added that stuff to a stock car, does the cars ecu self adjust for the added parts? Then it would probably act the same I'd guess.Worst case scenario is that down the road I want something else I drop the factory tune back in and sell it. But I will eventually get it custom tuned after some more parts to see what it actually does.

So would you go with bully dog or uprev? I personally like that if you add something to your car it can be adjusted for cheap rather than going to uprev again.

You can't adjust the Bully Dog for any mods unless you get a custom tune done. It acts just like the car normally would when you add your mods to the vehicle. The Bully Dogs preloaded tune is a "loose tune" better than factory but not Fine tuned. That's so it can be a simple plug and play piece, I'm assuming. If I had the money to throw all my parts in the car at once I'd probably get the UpRev and be done, but I have to slowly get all my parts so I went this route.

Very well said. I understand now. I must complete everything as well. Uprev it is. Has anyone here tuned their transmissions?
