hi new to the forum and first post of many, i just bought my 240 with a 5 lug conversion but everything else is still the same. stock 240 braking system. i also noticed my wheels tend to get brake dirt on them fairly easily and braking is a little iffy not too great. will doing the z32 brake system work better? or do i just need to do something? bleed brakes, replace brake pads with better quality ones, right now its just duralast brake pads.

Brake upgrade is not require but it's always a good thing, especially if u got a hit of power under the hood.. As far as your brake goes, bleed them n check. Them make sure they are in good shape, start with that.

The way I see it is all 5 lug nissans came with stock brakes for a reason, they work. Swapping hubs won't change anything as far as braking goes, but if you feel like the brakes aren't properly doing their job there are several things you can do to make them perform better. The stock brakes on my SR powered s13 work excellent with autozone pads and offbrand drilled and slotted rotors.
Possible issues could be contaminated pads, glazed rotors, or an improperly bled system. It's always best to try the cheap stuff first, resurface the rotors, new pads, bleed the system, etc... Z brakes are a nice upgrade but aren't needed unless you plan on tracking the car or like to brake hard repeatedly without fade.

Are you using the duralast semi-mettalic pads? I noticed A LOT of brake dust from those.
