Okay I just ordered Megan Racing 3 inch drift spec exhaust for my N/A. I was under the impression that the KA being 2.4L can take the 3inch.

Some other people say 2.5 inch is good for N/A. I think the 2.4L needing 3inch makes sense because Honda's that have 1.6L or 1.8L uses 2.5 inch exhaust.

Please rate the poll that you think is most correct.

um yeah as long as your cool with the noise that comes out of a 3" pipe. IIRC someone dyno'd a 3"

You are gonna get harassed by cops with a 3 inch but its the best for performance. I thus withold my vote as none of the choices listed above are ideal.

I have a 3.1 in (80mm) RSR Exmag I love it. Its loud, but I bought an Apexi ECV (read exhuast valve) to keep the volume down in the city. Whenever I wanna rip it, open up the valve and let the neighbors 3 blocks down hear me coming.

Enjoy your horribly sounding car, i had a Megan Turbo spec exhuast, hotshot header, and test pipe on my KA24DE before i swapped my RB25DET in and now the exhuast sounds heavenly.

3 inch megan exhausts are like megaphones and farty on a 240sx.

if you want a badass exhuast, get the 3.4 hi power from HKS, its not that loud, flows extremely well, and sounds amazing.

I got the original Apex N1 3" catback... been using the same exhaust for 7 years and it still sounds smooth as can be. I get compliments all the time from 240 owners how smooth and nice it sounds, but then again I always keep the silencer in it also.

I don't know about 3 inches... 2.5 appears to be more then enough, and at 3 the loud factor isn't worth it. I say this from a stand point of I'm in San Diego, cops hate modded vehicles. They don't pull you over, unless your being stupid, and being that loud here... well you get the picture.

But if it floats your boat to have something that loud; go for it dude!

I have no idea exactly of the performance difference between a 2.5 and a 3...~Nick

well then... if thats the idea, wouldn't you just direct one pipe straight out of the exhaust manifold and pour it out in the open?

And if your worried about the physical look of a muffler, then weld one on the back to look like you have it all hooked up?

Not being a jerk, just trying to understand exactly.

Or you could do the manifold pipe + a removable fake muffler so when you go for inspection you just place the stock parts back on.~Nick

Hehehehehe I hit a speed bump and the rest of my stock exhaust fell off (I was missing the muffler before), now the exhaust ends at the cat. Sounds nice, loud as piss, and a lot of vibration. I need to fix it before the po-pos get on my case. Debating on 5zigen border 304, ssautocrap exhaust (hey its cheap), or just running some straight pipe lol.
