Hey, I asked a couple of weeks ago and barely even got any views, much less a response. I just need a def file or an xdf that definitely works. I have a JDM MT ecu I am told. The serial number is MEC DO17 on the case. I have tried all the links. I would also be interested in a bin file tuned for a z32 MAF.

I'd love to help you man, but I just dont know anything about chip tuning, I just know the general tuning theory as of now. I'm sure alot of people on here are using this method of tuning, but I'm just not sure as to who.

Can anybody help this guy?

I have been studying up more. I am about to sell my chip burner and etc and get nistune I think, unless I can get megasquirt up and going on its own. I have found more wiring issues since my last attempt at starting the car. Still could use a file though if it comes around...

What issues with your wiring did you have or are you having?

No power or ground to maf, o2 sensor and some other places. I had to splice a harness together from 2 messed up ones. Disregard that concerning my original post though. I need a work definition file for a ca18det so I can edit my bin files correctly. As I have been stating, my car has upgrades and I need to tune for them some so I can start the car and break it in.

so u had the car fixed and running with the stock setup or no? If you can't find any bin files, I'd recommend nistune or sds.

No, it was never stock or running. I have been parting together a swap for some time and I never had a stock turbo or maf, and the stock injectors I had were bad so I have 460cc/min rx7 injectors, which may alos not work very well, but I can't justify buying new smaller stock ones. The maf issue I am having is now just getting tuned for it.

I have all kinds of s*** in there... bins.

I've been using romtuner and a pocket romulator to "chip" tune my silvia. I'm fed up with the lack of real time feed back and will be looking for standalone soon.

Awesome, I will have a look see if there is anything I can use there. I didn't see any def files. I too am about to quit this crap and try to get ms2 or -3 working, I have seen good use of the nissan cas with it finally. I found another program while surfing yesterday that was supposedly only for ca18dets, and I was able to read a few other bin files than the stock one I pulled off of mine. I see a MEC D017 which is the same as mine in your ftp site so I will load that and see if it is different than mine. I am starting to think this little program only does euro ca ecus.

Thats where I found the editor. I don't like it much for its simplicity, but if it works, it works.

That software isn't great...

TunerPro and TunerPro RT are much better

http://www.tunerpro.net/

Live Edit is great for Nissan specific cars.

I'll have to get back to you and post more information later.

I have tried that. If I burn a bin using that xdf I get a bad chip that won't run my car. Its all good, this is a backwards way to try and get my car running. Its tarped again, I am selling all the crap I don't need for it, and I am putting megasquirt on it the next time I work on it. I have never had such trouble with ecu tuning in a nissan. I guess the CA is just a little obscure for me in this respect, I haven't the time to conquer this.
