Is anyone running sr without intercooler?

I was wondering if anyone out there had an sr without an intercooler. This kid who lives somewhere around here was running his sr without an intercooler? I was confused??? Isnt there supposed to be major heating problems? I remember reading in a post before the engine wont start without an intercooler? Im so confused????

i can't see why it wouldn't start without it, but it is certainly not recommended. I'd be afraid to even run stock boost w/o the ic.

I know a few cars (old mazda 626 for ex) didn't have an ic stock, so it is do-able. But it had low output.

it runs fine up to like 8 or 9psi without the IC. We've seen 12psi on racegas before it will start to detonate. The car has no problem starting without an IC, only when you don't have the MAF hooked up in a closed loop will you have a problem (but even then it will start and run but poorly and not above like 2500rpm).
