In the upcoming months, I will be performing a level ten upgrade. I was wondering if there was anyone else looking to do this in the near future. I'm not sure if anyone is interested, but perhaps a group buy could be arranged.

I am possibly thinking about it, but I have to get a few other things done to the car first before I replace the transmission...probably about 6 months or so from now I will be able to give you a more "yes" or "no" answer...that is unless I drop the transmission before then with all the mods I am doing to the car.

I have a problem similar to someone else here. (heavyduty??) with the 1-2 shift good under normal driving, but when WOT 1-2 half the time is really screwed up with it sometimes taking way too long and the other times just really jerking the car. Other than that, the transmission works fine and my 2-3 shifts are perfect.

Having been to the shop, I can't overemphasize how small an operation this is. We can ask, but I'm just not sure if a group buy makes sense to them. Remember that the rebuild is labor intensive, so they don't save much on the parts with a group, and there is little or no fabrication, all or most of the parts come from outside suppliers such as Raybestos. I wouldn't get my hopes up on savings for this.

FX, The reason I mentioned this is, on leveltens website they have ahuge banner saying they do group buys. I'm sure we could save maybe 500 dollars. The only reason I brought it up, is because they have it prominently displayed on their website.

Good idea, but don't do it by email. I don't think they have used it for years.

I might be interested in the not too near future. If my trans needs replacing, this is what it will get, but I'm not pulling out a "good" trans with 140k miles.

Then go for it. And try to talk to Pat Barrett when you call.

I might be interested. I don't know enough. All I know is the dealer has my 94Q right now and said it needs a remanufactured transmission (but I have only 90K miles) and they want a bunch of money.

So now I need to do more investigation on what I should do. I just went to the levelten.com and glanced at what they have to offer. It seems like they are sixmilliondollarman parts. So I could rebuild it better than before. What would the rebuilding cost in addition to the parts? Any idea? And how do I find the guy to do it?
