Don't know if it is necessary..But why not get it? It allows for more flow and last a bit longer. I had it back when I was stock. I would recommend it.I change fuel filters like every 10k miles.Or If I think it might be clogged. Now that I'm turboed I'll be paranoid. Sorry I couldn't give you a direct answer but I would say yes get it.They were the same price last time anywayz.

its like $6 at your local pepboys, kragen, etc... Just get it, its not going to break the budget or anything and its good piece of mind.

Or you could just go to a parts store and by a fuel filter that is made for high hp engine and get a universal one. The one i got only cost me 20bucks for the damn thing but it is a see through. The only problem i have had is having to replace the rubber fuel line that connects to filter since it was cracked and old. I would recommend replacing the rubber fuel lines that hook to the filter since they are pretty old there self. The line only cost about 2 or 3 bucks but it is worth it. Or just get a braded line.

I dont see a fuel pump on that list. I would put in the fuel pump first and run out a full tank of gas. Theres a good chance your going to get some dirt in there changing the fuel pump. That way you dont plug up your new fuel filter real fast.

You said it was see through, is it a glass one that is cylindrical? If so, GET IT OFF OF YOUR CAR! They are designed for carb'd cars, and the pressure is only a little higher. Not to mention the filtration is non-existant at those pressures. You are doing your engine a disservice and driving a potential fire hazard!

Sure, its makes no difference really, Ive heard the z32 is cheaper so I guess if you are changing it might as well get it. And fuel filter is one of those things average people neglect to change, I would recomend changing it for sure if you bought the car recently.

My understandign is just that it allows for more filtering. And will last longer.Due to more surface area.

so changing the fuel filter wont change A/F.If you put in a walbro 255lph pump, that will change a/f's right?

No, your A/F's will stay the same with the walbro pump.

I don't see how it could allow for more filtering. It should last longer and flow better though. z32 fuel filters use a larger diameter, so there are more pathways through the filter for fuel to go, so fuel can more easily pass through, while still being filtered just as well.
