I ran 7 psi all summer with the stock fuel pump--I've heard from various sources that our pump is pretty adequate; however, it's a good idea to eventually upgrade it, as I have...

Yeah pretty much what MarkEmark said, it can handle it. But I would just do it for reassurance, seeing is how they aren't all that exspensive.

On an older car like an S13 i'd buy it for security. However the S14 fuel pump has been proven to be able to support 540cc injectors at stock pressure.

Yes, you DO need a fuel pump in order to run your car. :)

But yeah, stock pumps are enough for 7psi I would think.

at 7psi my car was leaning out on the stock pump. i'd change it to be safe, as some pumps may not be in as good condition as they used to be.

it also depends on how many miles are on your car. if youve got over 70k i would change it. if not then 7psi it would be about maxed out. its safe just to change it, its only $100

You could, but for $85 and about an hour (if you take your time) to change it......is it really not worth doing in your opinion?

Yes, and I suggest changing it on an EMPTY tank, not 1/2 a tank like I did. That gasoline smell really gets to you-i developed a mild cough after doing that and my fuel injectors--see if you can get a surgeon's mask or something when doing it because, in an S14 anyway, you have to thrust your hand in there and fish it out-I was sitting in the trunk when I did this.

i agree, mine was full when i changed mine, and i had my whole arm under gas trying to fish it out. and my car smelled like gas for a month. plus its more dangerous having a full tank.
