is a 95 and a 96 wiring harness the same?

due to the obd 2 will a 96 go into my 95 no modification?

i think the 96 has a few extra plugs due to it being obd2 for the egr crap.. few in the engine bay area n inside by the ecu, under the carpet, but not sure i dint really compare then when i had them...

don't know if this may help but when i did my rb swap, it was on the 96 after realizing that i wouldn't pass inspection (obd2).. i bought a 95 n install the rb on it n it plugged right on there with no issues at all............ i have a 95 harness upper n lower if u need one..

well i have a ninety six harness and it has a extra plug on the inside. and my radio doesnt turn off and my speedo doesnt work. so i was wondering if the previous owner just messed the wiring or if the harness are different

few ideas;

dont think ur harness has anything to do with the radio, maybe they hook a constant 12v to both the 12v n acc wires..

the extra plug is prob for the ob2 port under the dash....... 95 model doesn't support obd2

speedometer, check the sensor in the transmission, they have plastic gears n tend to wear with in time, heck it might be bad..i think u should be able to turn it by hand n the speedo should move but not quite sure.. i dont think the harness would be the problem but could be wrong

thanks for the help. well the speedo worked. i had a sr and went back to ka24 for new plans. and not sure if the guy messed up the wiring or re routed them for the swap. but the speedo did work with it. and the relay next to the ecu with the harness is different. if plugged ion my car wont turn off. not sure wcich wires go into that relay. any help is appreciated. im a dummy with wires. but if the n95 is different from the 96 then that could be it
