i have 225's on a 9" rim. you could do it. but i dont think its recommended. falken says my azenis's (225) can go on a 9" rim at the most and still be safe.

Welcome aboard.

Why do you want a "thin" tire?

Make the car fit the wheels/tires, not the other way around.

Yes, it can be done. Yes, it'll look ridiculous, yes, the load rating will be lower, and yes, you'll demolish your wheels the first pothole you meet.

Your overall diameter will be way off, so your speedometer with be in error. You'll also feel like you're riding on the rims.

Don't pay attention to me, I just despise stretched tires. Bleh.

I have a 215/40-18 on a 9.5

I think you will be ok. Don't make it a point to drive over potholes and whatnot.
