I know I have some problems to deal with but down the line would converting the INTERIOR ONLY to the 94 style be worth it down the line and would I be the first to do so?

That said would the BCM, tweeters, auto dimming mirror, seats and controls fit my car with out MAJOR modification.

I mean if i have to fit a couple of wire under the carpet or do some minor work like pulling the seats ok. But I would'nt want to modify the current harness on the vehicle.

Really, if you want a later Q45, get one. Wiring harness is completely different.

Well thats the thing I want to have the performance of a 90-93 G50 but the luxury of a 94-96 G50.

But I called um joe well IOS but they said that the BCM fits which is weird but that would mean I might have auto down reverse mirrors which is good now to get power to the auto dimming mirror.

The bulk of performance difference is in the transmission 1st and 2nd gears, weight increase from 94 lux upgrades [window glass, air bags, options, bumpers]. Lower flatter smoother torque curve of 94 engine probably less than 0.1 second decline.

Nope.

I spent the better part of a weekend starting to swap the interiors between 2 94's. Both cars were black, one had a black interior, the other had tan. I wanted to put the black interior into the heavily modified car. After nearly 2 days of working on taking the one interior out, hadn't even started on the 2nd car and was no where near done on the 1st, I decided it just wasn't worth it, and this would have been a direct bolt in, as they were both 94's.

Interior swap is much more involved than what the average Q owner would want to deal with. I want to do mine (tan, ugh) but I doubt I'll be able to find a complete black interior in decent shape to make it worth it. Having a spare parts car would be great but I don't have a spare parts car parking space (damn HOA). Good luck with the tan to black swap rex. Don't quit on it.

I've owned 5 G50s and currently own two. 2/5 were pre 94 and you can keep'em. The seats were harsh, the stereo lacks the piller tweeters, the 91 started in 2 gear (yuck). Now mind you you must bring the 94+ to specs+ by adding FSTB/tokiko blues/good tires/17 plus rims and anything else the car needs.

The Q is not a performance car kids, its a 4400 pound lux crusier worthy of unseating the big benz and BMW of the day, not a 911. Its all analog and tactile and retro..its not a high performance car so don't worry about the 90-93 advantage---it's tiny and not worth it considering the many upgrade on the 94.

Reality

Wow I was just talking about the seats and BCM as being the hardest to remove but I will double check the BCM has the same harness through Joe at IOS at least them I will have some 94+ Q45 features.

I don't own either car anymore, and called it quits when I got to the dash ... I realized it just wasn't going to be worth the +20 hours the 2 dash removal & installs would have taken by themselves.

The black interior holds up much better. It was a "must have" when I was looking for an SC.

I am with Peter on this one. The early cars hae a slight perforomance edge at WOT, but the later cars are much more complete, eliable and livable.
