Is 90 240sx speedo electric or mechanical?

I have a 90 240sx with a 5 speed. Is my speedometer electric or mechanical?

Speedo is electrical.

Hey Dr. J,

Can I, fairly reliably, snag a sensor from the junk yard and replace my jumpy acting speedo? Do I have to empty my tranny lube to do this? If so, recommended replacement lube.

I'll ask stupid questions now, I haven't had the 1990 SX long. But, Ii like it and plan on doing as many bolt on enhancements as I can afford. Who knows, maybe you'll be in the area and need some advice on the Gulf of Mexico fishing scene.
