I have a black '97 240sx with a messed up front (you can see it in the pics, theres a link below to them). It has about 60k miles on it and about 2 years left on an extended warranty I got with it, and it's an auto. The interior is in perfect condition except for one slight burn mark (I didn't do it, I don't smoke, lol) on the passenger seat over towards the side. The car is a base model with little to no options. It HAD a cd player, but it died completely about 3 months after I got the car, so it doesn't have one anymore. It has the regular greyish color interior, the carpet is in perfect condition and so is the interior (except that burn mark). The exterior's paint job is decent, has alot of hairline scratches and some cat scratch marks (stupid *** neighbors cat likes to jump up and sleep on it at night, I ran it over a couple of months ago on accident, it was an accident but I guess a good one for me, lol) on the roof. The engine and transmission are in good condition and I don't beleive they need to be replaced or fixed in any way, but if they do later down the road, the full warranty comes in handy. The car also has all good tires on it, most of which are only a few months old. I have to sell it since I'm finally in the DEP program for the USN and have to pay alot of bills off, I can't afford to do that with my insurance ratings, so I've got to get rid of my car. I still owe about 8k on it or so, but I know it isn't worth that since the front is messed up, and as a trade in I'd get raped and probably only get 5k for it (they like to **** people all the time). Let me know if you all think I can get $7k for it, thanks! Oh yeah, heres the link...

Thanks for any opinions you all can provide, I appreciate anything honest and not insulting (you can critisize the car, just don't be a prick about it, I beleive everyone is intelligent enough to draw that line ;)). Thanks!

i didnt see the pics because i didnt sign in to that site, but what it sounds like, i would ask for more. it wont hurt anything.just ask for a higher price and put "or best offer" , and you might get more than what you think you can. i sold my last 240, a 92 auto base with 170k miles on it for $2600. i thought i MIGHT get $2000 for it, but i put it up for sale at $3200 because it was in pretty good condition. so thats what i would do.

EDIT: how bad is the front end messed up? if its real bad you probably wont get that much for it.

Theres some pics for those that can't log in. I don't think the front is too bad, when I got in the accident it didn't even knock off my allignment.

i dont know thats kind of bad but the rest of the car looks awsome! so id say since it has low miles and the rest is in good condition that price sounds about right, considering that will cost a couple thousand to fix.

If you know the body guy or just find someone reasonable, that would cost less than a grand to fix. For $1100 I got tons of dents knocked out, bumper repair, hood straightened out, fenders also straightened out, 2 large dents (the size of a fat black womans ***) in the rear quarter panels fixed, and a whole new paint job....this is of course and S13 but still. Just tryin' to help.

Suppose the buyer decides to do an S15 conversion on that, which costs about $2500. Many of the 97/98 S14's in Southern California go for about $11000-$13000 depending on the condition.

No one will give you $7,000 for it, because of the damage you are lucky if you'll get $5,000.

If you get the damage fixed you could prob get 8 or 9 grand for it. But with the damage I'd say 5 or 6 grand.

I agree. Very nice looking car, but you won't get close to $7K unless you fix that nose. A buyer will guess that's a $2K repair job. With the nose fixed well, you should have no problem getting $7K, maybe even a little more... Good luck

If you had only post this earlier.....I would have sold you my driver lights, driver fender, and bumper for cheap. I was asking $120 for light and $120 for fender. I was in an accident but only my passenger side was damage. I feel your pain man.

StephNic what does it look like on the damaged corner under the hood. From the picture it looks to me that its mainly cosmedic damage. I would have to see the car in person but i think the thing thats really holding you back from selling it for 7k is the auto transmission.:(

its all cosmetic, the bumper support and inner fenders and stuff werent even effected. The auto transmission will DEFINATELY effect my ability to sell it, I know that for sure.
