Im looking to buy some used winter tires to mount on my rims and I found a good deal as far as price goes. But im unsure exactly how much tread is left, and its 50 miles away so Id like to know before going. The guy says they have 60% tread left, 3 of them have 6/32 left and one has 5/32 he said.

They are pirelli scorpion ice and snow tires

Think theres enough life left in them?

id say so, most of the time when I get tires for my car the come in a 9/32. so they sound like they still got 2/3 of the tread left.

Is your QX a 4x4? If so, the odds are in your favor, even if the tread isn't all that deep.
However, I would check to see how old they are since most snow tires are only used for a few months of the year. I'm not sure how much tread is worn off each year, but you don't really want to be rolling around on tires that are 6 years old.
