Why not turbo then get the exhaust. Is there a NEED to get the exhaust now?

yes its too big if you want to get any kind of performance from a na ka. i mean you can run it, itll just be loud as heck and youll be slower. if it were me id just save my money and do it all at once. i wouldnt want to look like and idiot having a 3" exhaust and everyone asking me if im turbo.

actually you wont be slower. any kind of exhaust is better than the super restrictive exhaust thats on there now. (stock) this is my track car and im running just a 3" pipe from the header back. and it is loud as hell. but also a bit quicker.

3" is big, but deffinately not to big. I have 3 inch on my track car and it made it .3 faster which is pretty good, so I dont think it will slow you down at all. But yes it is loud as hell.

I have a 3inch and I'm N/A as well ...i'm using the apexi dunk series, it was discountinued but from what I heard it was an awesome exhaust it retailed near 600 at the time and I got it for under 200 brand new from a friend. yes it's loud but I'd like to think of it as a nice deep purr. If money is tight and u cant' turbo yet but ur getting a good deal on the exhaust, get the exhaust it's better than our crappy stock ><

had the 3" from GP on my sohc, ran great. took something off the bottom end for just a second and then the motor would give me the green light to give it more gas. 3" isn't bad even for the NA KA. just my 2 cents.

I just put my 3" catback on, the car in preperation for the turbo in a few weeks and as of right now I cant tell any difference in having the 3" on the car while NA.

I have the HKS Hi Power on mine, its like 85mm which is like 3 1/3" inches and I've noticed a big loss in the lower RPMs,but a big difference near 4500 all the way to redline.

I really dont understand why so many people say you lose low end...etc etc

I understand teh principles behind it, but I have dyno'd mine stock 2.5" and 3" and it made more power and torque the larger i went threw the ENTIRE RPM band. I do NOT have a 3" DP though, just a 3" catback (N1). So long as the header/DP isnt 3" I really cant see how you would lose any power at all. If you are going to stay NA then stick with a simple header/testpipe and go for the 3" catback if you dont mind a lil more noise. Maybe once you go a little larger then that lower powerband loss may occur but i have NO experience with anythiugn larger than 80mm

To all those that say "its to big" or "you'll lose torque" why dont you prove it next time with some dyno sheets or something...

You lose that low end power because your exhaust gas loses it's velocity with bigger tubes...

with stock pipe I never bogged around or below 2k RPM but with 2.25 pipe I bog down a bit around 2k RPM but start to pick up around 3k RPM

Sorry no dyno sheets but this is from a personal experience.
