Is that a good deal? I live in central Virginia.
Thanks so much!

I took pictures (sorry for the poor quality):phjake wrote:I agree the price is too high. Did you see the actual MSRP sticker price on the window? Did the dealership pad the MSRP with add ons like paint protection ($500-$800), or even a "market adjustment" to up the price. These are common ploys dealerships use to pad their profit, and would show up on the window sticker on the vehicle.

Exactly. That's $1498 above what the MSRP says.Rogue One wrote:If the sticker says $25,790 which includes destination fee and options, then where did they get the selling price of $27,288???
Take followngnfront's advice and go to truecar.com to see how much dealers in your area are marking off MSRP. If the dealer won't match the best truecar price for your area tell them you're leaving and going to a truecar dealer who will.noobster wrote:Thanks so much for all of your help!
What do you think is a fair price OTD if I go back and try to haggle with them?
Truecar prices do NOT include tax, title, license, or doc fees as those vary widely by state, and even city/county. Truecar also doesn't take into account dealer add ons like paint protection packages, etc, as again those vary by dealers (some dealers have add ons others don't). As far as a discount for paying cash when buying a new or used car from a name brand dealer, that practice went away a long long long time ago.noobster wrote:Is the TrueCar price the OTD price? Thanks again for your help :-)
They are offering 0% financing. That is free money. Why pay it all off now? You can make more money using the extra cash you have on hand. Plus you will build up your credit.noobster wrote:Here's what TrueCar gave me:

The second one in there has the same VIN as the quote the dealer gave me (shown in my first post).

My credit score is pretty bad (679 equifax) and I am self-employed and don't really have a verifiable income, so I assume they would turn me down (they never did a credit check since I said I'd pay in cash).darylzero wrote: They are offering 0% financing. How did they try to screw me? Isn't the quote they offered pretty close to what the second quote in the truecar document I posted (which is the same vehicle) says?darylzero wrote: Since these a-holes already tried to screw you, what makes you think they are going to give you any kind of discount for paying cash?
I'm very happy with my Rogue and joined just a short time ago myself. Welcome to the forum.mstein_88 wrote:I know this isn't an apples-to-apples comparison, but I just picked up a 2014 Nissan Rogue SL AWD with Premium Package used with only 5,000 miles for $24,900 ($26,600 out the door). The car is in excellent condition as you'd expect with such low mileage.
I'm excited to join the Rogue club.
I see what you're saying now. Yeah, that does seem really shady. I guess it's possible it was just an oversight, though.followingnfront wrote:They tried to screw you by listing an artificially high number for the MSRP and then giving you a "discount" to what the actual MSRP is...
Thats bending you over with no vaseline.
NOBODY should pay MSRP even without rebates.
You should be able to get invoice price without much trouble.
And 0% for 36 months is another red flag... Nissan is offering 0% for 60 months.
Amen to that... Even if you don't purchase through truecar, you should go to their website to see what a good price off MSRP is and have that info before going to the dealer...followingnfront wrote:One thing Ive learned from experience... Really painful experience... Is that dealerships NEVER overlook anything or make simple mistakes. Its always a calculated and well practiced "mistake".
If I had to do it all over again, Id go truecar all the way.
Their 'documentation fee' is $598 (retarded, but apparently all dealers in VA do this from what I've read) and sales tax is about $950 based on the quote from the other dealer, which would make the OTD price $24,304. This is $1,046.44 cheaper than the first dealer! We are actually selling this vehicle $1,000 below invoice and then subtracting the $500 Customer Cash and $250 Finance Cash.
