Hey guys, I have recently replaced my radiator with a KOYO one, and also did the clutch fan to altima dual fan swap, installed a Autometer water temp gauge, and put in a new 190f thermostat.
After all that work everything works fine, but I have been watching my Autometer temp gauge and its shows between 185 and 210 it all depends how hard I drive the car. Now the Temp never goes above 210, and the stock gauge always stays right in the middle. Now I know my car is not over heating, but I have read in a few post that people wouldn’t recommend having their car at 210f.
So now should I just go ahead and get a 170 degree thermo or should I keep the one I have which is a 190 and let my car bounce around between 185 and 210? What is the normal operating temperature on the car? Btw this is a SOHC.

Do not know about the 190. A 170 came stock in my 91. I have never had a overheating problem, so I can not tell you anything.
i'd advice gettin the 170F t-stat, or the nismo(143F) if you have the $$,lol. 190 may not sound like much but it really is, more heat usually = less hp and probably more wear.
the stock a/c fan should turn on at 202F for low speed & 212F for hi-speed, 212 usually means you are overheating, sometimes even 202 means you are about to overheat.
