Is 15k too much for a 98 240?

KBB says it is. Its highest value is about 14100. I'm thinking of going with a 1997 from a dealer, but this 240 is in pristine shape, is a manual, and is sold from the only owner.

The list of 97-98 240s in my area is about 4 cars long...I don't have much of a choice, really.

There arn't many 97-98 240sx, and those who do seem to want alot for a car so rare. I would suggest print out the blue book and tell the guy you want to pay the blue book value. I would think he would agree (or atlest come to an agreement). And you should expect to pay blue book on any car that is in good condition. Good Luck.

depends on what options it comes with, how many miles it has, the condition of the engine, etc etc. It also depends on how badly you want the car.

If it's absolutely immaculate with low milage and great maintenance records the price is right.Remember folks book value is an average some PPL always spend more.

BUT, if it's anything less than very very good condition/milage maintence it would be too much.

Any flaw in the car would depress the price below the price you mentioned which ois for a car in excellent condition.

Excellent condition here means at least 4 out of 5 :

-low milage-almost perfect body-almost perfect interior-newer tires and they are all matched and the proper speed rating-good and complete maintenace records
