It's been a while since I posted.

The whole reason I bought my car was to deal with the long distance driving my co. was having me do.

So I got fired 4 months after buying the car.

After being out of work for 2 months, I finally landed a great job. Problem is the position comes with either a car allowance OR a co. car and a gas card.

With the cost of gas these days and given I don't know where I'll be working at any given time, I took the co. car. I hear the Ford Taurus is nice

Of course, 2 weeks after getting the job I got asked to go assist on a job in Vegas and I have yet to get my co. car. So, what the hell, I took the Q.

I left Irvine CA @ 3:00am and was sitting in front of the job just off the strip @ 6:10am.

I would have gone even faster but with my windows virtually blacked out, ALL cars could be a cop, ya know?

I held 105-120mph for a good 45min's. NO PROBLEM!

It was hard to be enthusiastic about my Q while sitting on my couch unemployed for 2 months. But driving to Vegas in the same amount of time it used to take me to crawl through traffic to just north of LA everyday has caused me to be quite the enthusiast again.

Oh, and I get paid 45 cents a mile. I used approx. $90 in gas.

So I net approx. $175 each trip.

God I love this car.

I just did the same, driving from Sacramento to Bakersfield, about 290 miles each way. The dollars add up quick and I get to enjoy driving the Q out of town.

We used to haul arse on the highway (I10?) from L.A. to Vegas in the early 70's. My buddy had a new '69 Z28 and we were 21. Good times.

The high speed LA to Vegas run was the first indicator for early G50 that better ATF cooling was a must.

NICE!!! I loved taking I-90 through SD, WY, and MT at 120mph. My brother and I took turns and had a damn good time.

I'd love to take a Q45 through the desert again!

One day I'll hit these fabled roads on my road trip to California. See what all the West Coast Q's are all about.

Not to be a nay sayer, but the "net" amount your seeing should go to the "Q maintenance fund".

Now on to the fun ...

My best "spirited drive" was from Miami Beach, FL (where I picked up the car) to Valdosta, GA in just under 5 hours ... including a bathroom and gas stop.

Indeed. Help combat the additional miles you're putting on it.

Most definately. The mileage check will be used to buy struts for the 90Q. About 95% of my driving is on surface streets with speed limits 45 mph or less. Whenever I get a chance to hit the open road I'll take the Q over the new Accord every time.

Not too long after I bought my '94 Q45t in 1996, my brother flew out to Phoenix from Chicago so we could drive to LA for my aunt's funeral. I was too sick to drive, so he did. He had been run over by a truck and broken his pelvis in three places. When it healed, some of the bones didn't meet evenly, and the sharp points made driving for more than an hour uncomforatble for him.

I had never ridden in it as a passenger, so as we motored across the desert, I remarked how smooth and quiet it was for, and asked him how fast we were going. He said to look at the speedo. I did. It was sitting pretty as you please on 135. He held it that way to Blythe, where we fueled up, then on into LA at the same speed. When we arrived, he remarked that he felt fine and could turn around and drive right back again. On the return trip, he held 135 all the way back to Phoenix again.

We were both astounded that even at that speed, there was no fuss, no muss, just smooth easy cruising all the way. The Q was solid as a rock and handled like a dream. I still think that run helped seat the rings, since afterward, it never used a drop of oil between changes, and averaged around 21 mpg mixed city/freeway.

I drive an '05 Q now, but that G50 was the best car I've ever owned, and I've had some great cars.

A little confused to which car you too the G50 or the F50?

I took my F50 from Vegas to Redondo beach and it was so nice cruising at 90 did not even feel going any faster than 50.

I got to take the F50 to the dealer for a timing cover leak covered by extended warranty.

Years back from Vegas to Downtown LA China town. 2hrs30mins, with a stop at State line for the $1.99 breakfast at the cofee shop and a fill up in Barstow. I took my old 95 Mitsubishi Mirage LS. 120 all the way, except to slow down for a white Volvo creeping up to me at 120. I slowed down to 80. When he passed me It was a unmarked CHP. He did not have the loghts on top, just decals on the side California Highway Patrol.
