Not too long after I bought my '94 Q45t in 1996, my brother flew out to Phoenix from Chicago so we could drive to LA for my aunt's funeral. I was too sick to drive, so he did. He had been run over by a truck and broken his pelvis in three places. When it healed, some of the bones didn't meet evenly, and the sharp points made driving for more than an hour uncomforatble for him.
I had never ridden in it as a passenger, so as we motored across the desert, I remarked how smooth and quiet it was for, and asked him how fast we were going. He said to look at the speedo. I did. It was sitting pretty as you please on 135. He held it that way to Blythe, where we fueled up, then on into LA at the same speed. When we arrived, he remarked that he felt fine and could turn around and drive right back again. On the return trip, he held 135 all the way back to Phoenix again.
We were both astounded that even at that speed, there was no fuss, no muss, just smooth easy cruising all the way. The Q was solid as a rock and handled like a dream. I still think that run helped seat the rings, since afterward, it never used a drop of oil between changes, and averaged around 21 mpg mixed city/freeway.
I drive an '05 Q now, but that G50 was the best car I've ever owned, and I've had some great cars.
