I got the XD-9 black with machined slide...I love it ! Very durable gun! I also purchased one extended 16 round clip.. I have waayy too many extra clips, like 6 I believe, came as part of a promo package though!maxentropy wrote:It's for target shooting and home protection. No I'm not an LEO. The dirt/mud/ice torture test is just an example of how durable the XD9 is. I'm not planning on using the handgun much, but I want one that is durable and that could stand up to those types of conditions. You never know when you might need it. (And no I'm not elaborating on that).
It's not that I'd use it much, it's simply to have. We could argue about the whole "right to bear arms" and whatnot but I don't want to get into it here. I want a handgun so I have one now before there are any more restrictions against purchasing/owning one.
I'm also planning on getting a carrying permit. I'm not planning to carry, but I want a permit nonetheless (for the same reasons from above).
It's between the XD9 sub compact handgun or an M4. M4s cost twice as much, but the rifle would be fun to shoot, although fairly impractical for home protection so I'm leaning towards the XD9. Plus, if I get an M4 I'm gonna end up spending another few grand customizing it. I already spend too much customizing my AC (or so says my gf)
It comes with two extra clips (3 total) and the package included extra clip carryer, 3 more clips, and extra gun case.LongBeachCoupe wrote:i just dont understand things like that... 6 clips as part of what kind of package... lol... people dont hunt with handguns (to the best of my knowledge) and 6 clips... well thats a whole lot of hurt....
LOL, I said the answer to that in my post, its an XD-9.. Sprigfield Armory makes the weaponds, XD stands for Xtreme Duty, and the 9 stands for 9mmmaxentropy wrote: How do you like your XD9 Doc? You have the black version, is it the .45 or 9mm?
PS- Handgun wise, it was between the Glock 17 and XD9, but the XD9 just felt more comfortable in my hand.
I still have a PA. Carry permit (clean record, local tax ID and two references) easy. When I lived there I used to carried a glock19 or a sig 226, but they are too bulkey IMO. So I switched to a Colt Mustang Pocketlite, very light 7 roungs, easy to hide ect. Just something to think about...good luckmaxentropy wrote:It's for target shooting and home protection. That $hit is a no go in California... its darn near impossible to get a carry concealed license in Cali08Coupe wrote:

No, most people don't hunt with handguns, they protect themself with it.LongBeachCoupe wrote:lol... people dont hunt with handguns (to the best of my knowledge) and 6 clips... well thats a whole lot of hurt....
....... dude, are you serious? Wait a second, let me calm down a second.datsun2401972 wrote:And the whole NYPD incident, if you don't give the police any reason to shoot you...then why would they shoot you?!?! I haven't read up on it at all, but I heard the guy was in a car at the time the police shot. If your in a 2 ton killing machine making me feel threatened for my life, I'll use as many bullets as I have to to stop the threat.
