Hmm... i have to say it.. dont get mad... but "another" DJ with a handgun? I dont think its slim enough to fit in the "hidden" behind the knee pocket...

Any reason why you are looking for a gun to shoot after its been in mud or sand? I know your not a LEO (and even a LEO wouldnt need this, more like navy seal or druglord divers)

It's for target shooting and home protection. If you are interested in a handgun I'd get one before Clinton or Obama take office...

No I'm not an LEO. The dirt/mud/ice torture test is just an example of how durable the XD9 is. I'm not planning on using the handgun much, but I want one that is durable and that could stand up to those types of conditions. You never know when you might need it. (And no I'm not elaborating on that).

It's not that I'd use it much, it's simply to have. We could argue about the whole "right to bear arms" and whatnot but I don't want to get into it here. I want a handgun so I have one now before there are any more restrictions against purchasing/owning one.

I'm also planning on getting a carrying permit. I'm not planning to carry, but I want a permit nonetheless (for the same reasons from above).

It's between the XD9 sub compact handgun or an M4. M4s cost twice as much, but the rifle would be fun to shoot, although fairly impractical for home protection so I'm leaning towards the XD9. Plus, if I get an M4 I'm gonna end up spending another few grand customizing it. I already spend too much customizing my AC (or so says my gf)

Dont worry about gun laws changing... as long as cars are running on foreign OIL, and theres more american youth in prison for drug related offenses than violent ones.. you are safe...

I dont think you should be nervous about this election whatsoever in all seriousness... Although im not one of them... masses come out of the woodwork when you try and say something anti-gun (NRA, Republicans, Hicks, Etc.. lol)

Home Protection- (you dont have a mud pit or sand in your house do you lol)

I cant imagine what kinds of trouble i would have gotten myself into as a 17-21 yr old if i lived in a state where a license was easy, and a carry was obtainable..

I do remember the last time i saw a gun in the hands of someone upset... and when we were leaving the parking lot of "silo" (you know the club if your from NY/SI) back in (jeez) 1999 and... "your mans was grillin my girl" turned into "ima wait outside for these fools" and ended in "i have a gun but lucky for me i cant shoot, but dont have enough sense not to fire off stray rounds"

That was one of a handful of experiences ive had while driving where guns and drinking were involved... everybody says its for XYZ.. but then you have some friends over who had too much to drink.. yada yada yada they stumble upon the piece and....

Anyways im done with my gun rant... but as always... DONT PAY RETAIL for it... get a deal!

You're the deal man, hook a brother up. Lemme know if ya find anything

How do you like your XD9 Doc? You have the black version, is it the .45 or 9mm?

PS- Handgun wise, it was between the Glock 17 and XD9, but the XD9 just felt more comfortable in my hand.

It comes with two extra clips (3 total) and the package included extra clip carryer, 3 more clips, and extra gun case.

I def don't need 6 extra clips!!!! Unless, I want to try out for the NYPD, then I'll need them to unload into as many black guys as I can find, especially when they are out at their bachelor's party the night before their wedding

LOL, I said the answer to that in my post, its an XD-9.. Sprigfield Armory makes the weaponds, XD stands for Xtreme Duty, and the 9 stands for 9mm

XD-40 is a 40 caliberXD-45 is a 45 caliber, etc!

I still have a PA. Carry permit (clean record, local tax ID and two references) easy. When I lived there I used to carried a glock19 or a sig 226, but they are too bulkey IMO. So I switched to a Colt Mustang Pocketlite, very light 7 roungs, easy to hide ect. Just something to think about...good luck

That $hit is a no go in California... its darn near impossible to get a carry concealed license in Cali

WI, IL, NY, CA all suck for permits. In 6 years I carried I never had to pull it but it was nice to have. I keep one in my office (at my motel) but on the streets it's a crime...Can't even take it to the bank to drop cash/deposits.

Ooh...guns! Did someone mention guns? Haha Well, while visiting beautiful Oregon, I happened to go into a local gun shop and what did they have sitting on the shelf? 33 round mags for my Glock's. Of course, these are illegal in the state of Hawaii, but I just HAD to have them. So, out came $80--did I mention no sales tax in Oregon--and out the store I went carrying two 33 round Glock mags. I shipped them via good ol' USPS to myself

Now what to do with that $600 coming my way? Hmm...perhaps another Glock to add to my already large gun collection?

Anyways, how have you all been? It's been a while, huh? Sorry, I've been very busy as of late, but I'll try to be more active here.

Now how's this bad boy

No, most people don't hunt with handguns, they protect themself with it.

"But why do you need to protect yourself?"

Because criminals have guns too, or knives, or a big stick, whatever....

Look at Virginia Tech, they thought it was a good idea to make a "gun free zone" out of the campus..."GUN FREE ZONE" is a nice translation anti-gun people use for "VICTIM RICH ENVIRONMENT."

These idiots don't even understand the definition of the word "criminal"

IT MEANS THEY DON"T OBEY LAWS.......LIKE "NO GUN" LAWS...hello?!?!

And the XD line of pistols are awesome, my personal experience is with the .45 4inch barrel, and I love it.

And the whole NYPD incident, if you don't give the police any reason to shoot you...then why would they shoot you?!?! I haven't read up on it at all, but I heard the guy was in a car at the time the police shot. If your in a 2 ton killing machine making me feel threatened for my life, I'll use as many bullets as I have to to stop the threat.

....... dude, are you serious? Wait a second, let me calm down a second.

1st, I understand that people come from different backgrounds and their world views are different. You live in Tulsa Oklahoma, so my guess is your worldview is completely different from mine, and probably a bit skewed at that.

2nd, the Sean Bell incident is another example of trigger happy police in New York with their shoot frist ask questions second philosophy. Your statement leads me to believe you are completely ignorant of the Amado Diallo incident in which, in a case of mistaken identity, the NYPD shot and killed an unarmed, tax paying immigrant who was trying to pull out his wallet and show them they had the wrong person. He was shot 41 times with a number of them being up through his feet, meaning he was shot while he was down.

Unarmed Sean Bell's car was shot at 50 times by off duty police officers outside of a strip club, one officer shot 31 times, meaning he emptied his clip, reloaded, and emptied the second one! COntrary to popular opinion, it is NOT OK to shoot a suspect unless you have a reasonable fear of your life. Having a beef in a club should not translate into killing an unarmed man, never, no way, not ever.

In the future, do some research on incidents before you start with diahrrea of the mouth ... its incidents like this that have many people, including myself with a F*CK THE POLICE mentality! I do hate cops, I do, its not right, and it may not be justified in many people's eyes, but I hate em with a passion. They lump us together in the same bracket, and we do the same to them!

Yeah man... the cops didnt have these mega-clips, they actually changed clips, and continued to fire at the guy...

Dr Feelgood.. you are right about datsun i believe...

Datsun, go watch Boyz N the Hood and watch what happens on that police stop... dont think that doesnt happen if your the wrong "type" in the wrong area...

Doc, thanks for the quick lesson.

Generic, what Glocks do you own and which do you personally prefer?
