here's an article i found: http://www.autoweek.com/cat_co...19869i'm curious about the comment: "That leaves Honda and the backbone of the soon-to-crumble Infiniti camp, not to mention whatever CART programs switch to Tony George’s league, if any." this is found in the 2nd paragraph. I don't keep up with cart or anything like that so what's that comment supposed to mean. Does that mean infiniti will crumble in the wake of the new toyota motor? or is there something else?

Infiniti is leaving the IRL, they don't want to do it anymore because they are going to a new motor layout next year and they don't want to re-design.

Crybabies At Rogers Track (or at least we used to call them that) was thinking about going with an IRL style motor next year, but have decided against it and are going to stick with the 2.64 litre turbo mill's they have been running. I guess it was too much of a pain to re-design the IRL motor to run in the 14,000-17,000rpm range that they wanted.

I'm still trying to get an answer from my source at the brickyard on what's going to happen with the Infiniti Pro Series.... but she dosn't know.

infinti will be leaving irl pro , but they are concentrateing the new feeder series , its kinda like the busch series in nascar, the cars are about the same size but the engine is a pretty much stock q45 engine from what i have been told

im very very sad infiniti will leave ppro irl , have pulled for them ever since they came on ,i remeber many times at the 500 i was the only guy standing up in turn 4 , cheering cheever on or whatever infiniti was doing good . they never had the support they needed and were always the bastard child at indy , but at indy thats the way it is , the americans showing the rest of the world we are beatter. porsche,alfa-romeo,judd and many others have fallen to the big budget big support detriot iron, infiniti was expected to win as much as buick was in the 90s.

hats off to the most professional ,inteligent group of people that ever came there ...
