the elecrode lasts longer than platinum, and the electrode is smaller, so supposedly its a hotter spark.

i think they are a big fat waste of money.

kinda like nology hotwires that dont do anything, its just too gimmickey.

even if you have superconductor plug wires and nuclear spark plugs, your still just igniting your air-fuel mix.

think of it this way, if you light your M80 with a blowtorch instead of a match, will it give off a bigger bang?

see, its a wierd thing, because people replace their worn out plugs and wires with this super expensive "performance" garbage and notice the night and day performance increase.

but its no more than a 2 hp increase than if you were to replace them with new OEM components.

and people do. i just dont like the sound of $60 spark plugs.

looka t it this way- $240 for a set of plugs, and $180 for hotwires

$420 for 2-3 hp. better off getting an exhaust.

guess what i just noticed, when i ordered all my suspension stuff from PDM racing awhile back i decided to buy some of their 8.5mm wires and a set of the regular NGK plugs. they made a mistake and only charged me for 1 plug instead of 4, but since my money transfer had already gone through and i made a pretty large purchase from them they didnt mind throwing in the 3 more plugs for free. i havent installed the plugs yet and i just now notice they sent me a set of the iridium plugs instead of the regular ones i ordered. so really i got a set or NGK iridium plugs for $1.75. cool

I have 4 +4 platinum plugs. It's nice to know I have them, and I needed new plugs anyways. Not much difference, cept it ran a lil easier. I'm ashamed....they looked SOO SHINY! I couldn't resist!!!

i aSSumed that iridiums are like platinums <in terms of longevity> but for turbo applications... since i know platinum are only good for daily-drivin' NA engines <lazy to replace 'em every 30K>

I've also heard the +2 & +4 sux due to that side electrode design. so only used the reg plats every 60K... w/ decent mileage.

I had a set of those Bosch +4 platinums on my integra gsr and they fouled in almost two months. Those plugs cost me almost $200 if you factor in the tow and mechanic screwing me over. I was so naive back then :(.

i rock the autolite platinum's from kragen. at $2.50 each they get the job done, iridiums are overrated imo...

The Bosch F5DTC rock. If you have an NA, you might want to get the F6DTC which is one heat range warmer. They are a copper electrode plug, with a very deep jacket around the ceramic, to better dissipate heat. They come with three prongs instead of just one, and are gapped at .028.

Changing to those plug from the standard, NGK SR20 plug gapped at .032 made all the difference in the world. The turbo used to blow the spark out at around 5000 RPM in 5th. With the new plugs, it revs well past there.
