This is the guy that kept telling Cheney that the MWD in Iraq were a "slam-dunk."

What I find most disturbing about this is the sealed settlement that allowed this guy to keep being put up front as an "up-and-up" expert. How much executive branch political pressure was brought to bear back then that has allowed this guy to continue his pedophilia?

WTF? Are some people sooo f***ed up by the world that they have to approach minors online?

I know Elvis Presly, and Jerry Lee Lewis, and Ted Nugent, and Edgar Allen Poe all did it, but they gave something to the world in exchange for that privilege, right?

To make a spectacle out of this guy is to fight evil with evil.

Wut?

Are you trying to associate him with the Bush Administration?

The article says he was an inspector from 1991 to 1998 which may include the elder Bush but the majority of his work would have still been performed under Clinton? Was he a special adviser or something to Cheney? Wonder if he meet Chris Hansen...

So something you do in your personal life completely negates anything you're an expert in in your work life?

I'm not defending the guy in any way, I'm just trying to see the logic here.

Kobe's affair back in the day clearly hasn't had an effect on his basketball skills.

Theodore Kaczynski was well educated, but he also blew up stuff.

In this case it does bring his credibility into question. If he's a liar, crook, pedoph:le etc. and someone has to negotiate things behind the scenes to continue to use him as a primary credible authority, someone else should have been brought in and taken over the research to verify it. They kept parading this guy out as honest when they knew he wasn't.

Kobe proves his skills on the court nightly and is not being paraded as an honest person who tells the truth.

Kaczinsky was a low-profile guy who, if he published "authoritative" research, was or would have been peer-reviewed. He was not being paraded publicly as an honest person who tells the truth.

People used this guy knowing he was already a liar about some pretty important things in his life. And negotiated hiding his court records to keep him appearing as an honest guy.

I tend to agree as he should have been strung up and his nuts cut off for being a pedo the first time. At first I thought you had assumed this happened during GWB 41 and was doing the 'ole "blame Bush" game and I was like WTF?

The U.N. should have removed him as a weapons inspector and fired him as non-credible. The members of the Bush administration (I wouldn't blame Bush because Cheney was actually the driving force behind parading Ritter around) should not have used him. And since Ritter flipped over to the liberal's side after the fact, the liberals (I've seen this guy paraded as credible on MSNBC) should never have used him. There's enough blame here for everyone on both sides and multiple organizations that have used this sleazebag.

He was the chief U.N. weapons inspector in Iraq from 1991-98. Bush II didn't come into office until 2001. As Ritter was an outspoken critic against the Iraq war and the Bush Administration why would Bush/Cheney try to do anything to get his 2001 charge dismissed? Am I missing something?

You're right. I thought Ritter was the guy but he wasn't. The blame lies with the liberals and the U.N., even though in this instance Ritter was correct. He never should have been out there as a credible truth-teller.

Now it's driving me crazy trying to remember who it was I'm thinking of.

Dude, you could apply this line of thinking to any politician in office right now. They are all liars at this point and all of them will choose whatever keeps them in office over the right course or simple truth.

I'm not justifying either, just saying...we're surrounded by liars and crooks.

Pretty much

We need to find someone who will veto everything that has earmarks and press forth cutting Gov spending while fixing the corrupt spending policies we have today.
