It has gotten to the point that when my Compaq Ipaq breaks, I just exercise the TAP replacement warranty. I go in, give them my busted up PDA and get a pimp new one. I am not sure how CompUSA is making any money from this, but I have had 3 PDA's with a minimal investment of 600$.
Most of the electronics made these days are so cheap that companies dont fix the problem. If it is under warranty, they will give you a new replacement. If its not under warranty you might as well buy a new one. This is the reason for big ticket electronics items, I typically buy an extended replacement warranty. I have gone through numerous, ethernet hubs, routers, video/network cards, harddrives and such.
