IPOD touch charging issues

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I have an 08 EX35. My two year old IPOD nano works just fine but when I plugged my new touch in I got an error message stating that charging is not supported with this device. I did a comparison of the 2008 vs 2010 compatible device list and yes the touch is supported for 2010. I contacted Infiniti to see if there was a new cable or software to allow me to upgrade my 08 to the newer specs and they said to contact Apple as it was not their issue?

Somebody at Infiniti had to do something different for 2010 than they did in 2008 to get the new devices to work. So the question is why are they passing the buck? Anyone out there have this issue and get it resolved? Thanks

BTW all the people out there complaining about the size of the back of the car need to go cry somewhere else. The car didn't shrink. I get my surfboards and all my gear to the beach just fine, very quickly and in style.

Hi! I just bought mine on Sunday (!) and am flummoxed my the mp3 player connections.

I have a Sansa mp3 player and it doesn't work with the usb port. So at Infiniti's suggestion, I went to Radio Shack and bought a $8 converter. Great. Except the radio dash doesn't advance songs. Does it do that if I were using an ipod? Bc now I have my Sansa and the cords hanging out of the center console and can't close it... not comfortable or attractive for my pricey purchase.

Thanks!
