I'm trying to play Ipod music directly to speaker without CD player (headunit).

Is it possible? I know there's got to be something to get 12v from car and receive just music from Ipod and sent it to big speaker....

I have to do this cuz i can't install headunit in my car.

you're ???? is an amp. You could get a converter for the Ipod to send the Ipod signal via RCA jacks. Those would connect to an aftermarket amp, which is connected to a 12volt source (battery) to provide power for your speaker. The CD player has a small internal amp to drive the speaker.

With using the Ipod for the input source, it would control the volume. The amp has settings for matching the input gain from the source...its not a volume control.

Get the Belkin car charger and iCharge cord so u can charge ur iPod and play music at the sametime.http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCa...49006

Belkin car charger has an output headphone jack and the iCharge cord is basically a headphone jack to RCA.

There's an older thread about this somewhere in here (Car Audio sub forum). It' suggests using a 1/2 DIN eq with either rear RCA input or front side 1.5mm jack.

In short an iPod won't have enough power to push anything more than headphones on it's own, you'll need some "amplification" and a way to feed (signal) and trigger it.

Just plug the iPod into a car audio amp.
