Good afternoon. I recently purchased a 2006 Infiniti M35x, with only 33k miles on it. I noticed it already has an Ipod cable, coming from the glove compartment. It good to charge my device, but it doesnt let me play the music from my device. Is this cable only to charge? Or is it also able to play my music? if so, how? i've tried and tried, but cant seem to figure it out. Thanks for the help.

Try hitting the radio button multiple times to see if it switches modes into an iPod mode. That's how my aftermarket iPod unit (USA Spec. PA15-NIS) works.

When I purchased my 2006 M45 sport, it came with the iPod cable coming out of the glove box as well. Before I bought the car i was looking on the website and was prepared to shell out the 250 but I didnt have to.

And yes, you should just be able to press the Radio button until it reaches the XM radio, from there it should work if not, have it on XM radio and unplug, then plug it in. It should automatically play. Press the Preset 5 button for direct control from your ipod or iphone.

Thats unless its strictly a charger for some reason......

Why are you people shelling out $250? And for what?

There is a device from USA Spec. that will give you the capability of having an iPhone/iPod controllable from your stereo...there is write ups for both versions on this site.

???

Anyone know where I can get a cable? I have the hookup in the glove box but not the cable.

Also, does it work with an iphone for playing music?

Hello,

I have an M with the 14 speaker surround, should I have an ipod connector also?
I thought pre 08 models didn't have the ipod feature.

I've been using the aux RCA ports on the back of my armrest to listen to my ipod.

Does anyone know if there is a hack or retrofit to make your ipod sound go to all 14 speakers like when listening to a CD?

Thanks
