I have a 2009 G37x and for some reason when I turn the car off my ipod stays on and drains the ipod battery until it's dead.

Is anyone else having this is same problem or know how to fix it?

Thanks

I think you have a cigarette lighter that is not connected to any switches( Ignition...). So you can use the accessories even without the key in the ignition. My 1993 Infiniti Q45 is the opposite, The key must be turned to ACC to have power to the cigarette lighter.

When connected through the A/V cable (as opposed to USB), the car is not controlling your iPod... it's only acting like an external speaker. When you turn the car off, you must press pause (or hold the pause button) on your iPod to ensure that it powers off.

Actually the car does control the ipod. It's a special cable, not just RCAs. I have heard that different hardware versions have problems...is it an old ipod or a new one?

I don't have an ipod so I cant test mine...

In my 2010 the ipod stays on in PAUSE mode then it goes to sleep.
