I installed my aftermarket today and have an iPod adapter. Hooked it up and put the one wire to the battery and other to ground and I'm getting alot of static so I just unattached the wires for charge(for now). Any ideas how to not get the static and hook it up so I can get a charge???

Have you tried different ground locations?

Check this first. Static/interference is often caused by power/ground. Also, you only hear static through the iPod? Radio/CD/DVD/etc sound ok? Can you give us more information on what models of everything you are running?

Ya cd/dvd and radio work beautifully....I have a phase linear uv8 with iPod nano...I actually took ground off and it made more static, so reattached it...I'm getting like a pulsatic noise that I'm guessing is coming from battery wire....I have both radio and adapter to the one wire

What ground are you removing? It can't be the main radio ground, as that would make it stop working.

Not too familiar with that unit, but a quick check of some mobile A/V forums shows some users have had problems with it (especially trying to use a nano).

How does the iPod connect to the unit?

Ya I have yell/wht/red aux wires hooked up to the back that is the adapter. The adapter itself has a ground and a battery wire which are separate from the radio itself. Ya I guess I am just going to have to try different things.
